My wife and I hold this particular scripture dear because, like most people, we met after we had gone through so much in our own lives. Trauma, pain, divorce, and all the scary unknowns that the enemy used almost destroyed us at our lowest points; however, when we came to Christ, we both went through over 7 years, and many seasons of preparation to get strong. God grew our faith and helped us gain new families and friends. He brought us through those seasons to prepare us for today’s season. We appreciate the magnitude of Christ’s relationship and covenant with us, and that is the same measure of grace, mercy and love we have learned to bring into our marriage.
God is telling us through this passage in Joel: no matter what we go through in life, when we trust in Him, He can restore what the enemy planned for evil. His perfect and glorious plan trumps all that you think you have lost. He will restore 10-fold in your life, more than what you can think or imagine, and it will feel like you never skipped a beat in your life.
